“I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loves me and gave himself for me. I do not set aside the grace of God, for if righteousness could be gained through the law, Christ died for nothing!” Galatians 2:20
snapshot from the winter retreat:
In mid-February, 125 of our staff and students were in Black Mountain, NC for a Ski Retreat. I took the lead from our office for planning and executing the retreat which was an incredible learning opportunity. From the theme: “more than a feeling," our director shared about a God that more than loves us but actually likes us and has provided a way to joyfully follow him through Christ. We had a lot of fun too (check out the dodgeball tournament video below) and click here to listen to talks from the retreat.

opened eyes:
One student from Wofford, Ethan, surrendered his life to Christ on the car ride back to Wofford after the retreat. His first words to Andre, the Campus Outreach director at Wofford and guy driving the car, after praying were “I feel so free!” Ethan had always considered himself a Christian, but saw his religion mainly as a set of rules to follow. Using the messages and conversations with some of our staff at the retreat, God finally opened his eyes to see that he was saved by undeserved grace, not by works- Ephesians 2:8-9. How freeing it is that as Galatians 2:20 says, that we can live by faith in the perfect life of Christ, not by faith in ourselves and how good we are. He and Andre have been meeting weekly to study the Bible, helping to continue to point Ethan to the gospel. God has since used Ethan’s testimony to bring to faith in Christ one of Ethan’s fraternity brothers. Please pray for Ethan and the ways God continues to work in and through him at Wofford.
